Vivek Ramaswamy Is Weird

Vivek Ramaswamy has always been weird.

Josh Barro, who went to Harvard with Vivek, described him in school as the type of guy "who adores the sound of his own voice, who thinks he’s the smartest person on the planet with the most interesting and valuable interpretations of the course material, and who will not ever, ever, ever shut up."

While in college, The Harvard Crimson described how Vivek had an alter-ego that he named "Da Vek" who would weirdly "rap libertarian prose".

Vivek's desire to rap came up during the presidential race, when Eminem had to tell him to stop rapping his songs on the campaign trail.

During his presidential campaign Vivek called himself a "scientist" who "developed a number of medicines", which was a really weird lie. The reality is that Vivek was an investor who spent a decade working for a Hedge Fund before using his Wall Street connections to raise billions of dollars for a company that promised a miracle cure to Alzheimer's.

The miracle drug never materialized, but Vivek did manage to cash out with $200 million before the promised drug eventually failed.

That may sound like a weird scam to most people, but I can assure you that is just business as usual for your average Wall Street psychopath.

More recently, Vivek has been getting mad at people on Twitter for saying that Donald Trump and JD Vance are "weird".

Unsurprisingly, that photoshoot is not the only example of Vivek wearing big ass shoes that are several sizes too large for his feet.

Wearing ridiculous clown shoes is a trait Vivek has in common with his fellow Republican, Ron DeSantis.

The reason both of these men feel the need to project big feet and/or height in order to appeal to Conservatives is because the Republican base is really weird.

MAGA Republicans are weird

Republican politicians rarely talk about public policy anymore. Their core message is centered around hating various groups of people, whining about pop culture, and creating memes that will appeal to the far-right trolls on Twitter and 4chan.

The end result of these weird priorities are decisions like the Ron DeSantis Presidential campaign tweeting out digital ads with literal Nazi imagery.

Or Vivek Ramaswamy releasing a list of his top 10 issues facing the country, and placing "Reverse Racism" at number 4.

The claim that the worst type of racism in America is racism against white people only resonates with people stuck in a weird online echo chamber filled with white supremacists, conservative grifters and right-wing internet weirdos.

There's a common thread here with Vivek's bizarre response to known weirdo Elon Musk claiming that the Academy Awards wouldn't nominate American History X for any Oscars today because it isn't "woke".

Vivek Ramaswamy American History X

Putting aside the fact that American History X only received one nomination when it came out, the film's [spoilers for the next four paragraphs] message is the definition of "woke". It's the story of a Neo-Nazi named Derek who wakes up and comes to reject his extreme right-wing beliefs. He realizes that the anger and hatred he held toward other groups of people was not only misguided but causing direct harm to his own life and the lives of his family members.

Towards the end of the film we learn that the jumping off point that put Derek on the road to becoming a Nazi was his father using racial slurs and complaining about Affirmative Action.

You can draw direct parallels to the current Republican Party's weird obsession with corporate DEI initiatives and their inclination to use "DEI hire" as a slur for any person of color with a job.

The only way you could come to the conclusion that American History X is an anti-woke film is if you relate to Derek and find yourself nodding along to his beliefs and racist talking points. It should go without saying but you're not supposed to agree with the political opinions of the man with a swastika tattoo on his chest.

Vivek's weird inability to grasp this concept is comparable to other right-wing grifters on Twitter who celebrate the things that Eric Cartman, a cartoon character who has led a Nazi rally and made a kid eat his own parents, says on South Park.

In the world of the weird MAGA Republicans, attacking entire populations of people is fair game. The only group that is off-limits are white conservative men.

That's why Vivek relates to Derek and laughs along when someone suggests that because he's Indian he should be working at a 7-11, but finds the concept of "reverse racism" or calling Donald Trump "weird" to be beyond the pale.

Vivek Ramaswamy The Modern Right

Vivek is part of a political movement made by and for weird babies. Grown adults who stopped maturing in high school and are desperate to seem cool to their online base of cringe racist incels.

Conservative grifter Tim Pool, explaining why he was still single, once stated: "You know what the problem is though. It's definitely not me. It's everybody else." They hate when you call them "weird" because it shatters their illusion that everything would be fine in their life if black people, gay people, trans people, etc. would just go away. It forces them to deal with the reality that maybe the reason no one likes them is their own fault, because they won't stop being weird.
